"Oh, you can't get a man with a gun!"
Gun nuts, what's the proper etiquette in a situation like this? Does the guy who got shot now get a free shot at the vice president? Have we had a vice president shoot anyone since Burr shot Hamilton? Is this what you conservatives mean by a return to traditional American values--bringing back the fine tradition of vice presidents shooting people? If so, this must be an especially proud moment for you.Vice-president Dick Cheney is really having a bad day, but no worse than the guy he accidentally shot.

I read that story and I laughed, since the guy will be OK.
Though I have never hunted quail, I have pheasant, and the general rule is such situations is that hunters stay in one line side by side with I'd guess about 20-30 yards between them. This gives 180 degrees of open space before each hunter to shoot at the bird.
There really is no excuse for shooting your hunting buddy like that except pure stupidity.
Bad Veep. Bad, bad, bad Veep.
See, that's what makes me think this was a duel. Experienced hunters with woods full of Secret Service agents are bound to be very aware of where everyone around them is. So, I think the "accident" is just a cover story. I mean, please, there was an ambulance on hand. This has duel written all over it.
B, you may be right on this one. Too bad there aren't more...
I offer you this image from Sturgis over at http://squirrelsonsnark.blogspot.com/2006/02/cheney-fudd.html
I laughed my butt off after seeing this.
Funny stuff.
Deadeye Dick needs to take that NRA gun safety course again. Guns don't place your hunting buddy in stable condition at the local hospital, people do.
