Argh, I am so grouchy

I am so grouchy at work this week. It's not anyone's fault and when I get home and see the silly dog, I feel a lot better, but I'm just feeling stir crazy. The price of gas has me so down because I'm in desperate need of an adventure, a drive someplace new and weird that I can explore, but I'm trapped in the confines of town. Here's the same old bridge over the same old interstate that takes the same old people out to their little towns. And here's the same old work I always do in the same old place with the same old people. Oh, Nashville, you open yourself up for all the cool kids. You give them nooks and crannies they can wedge themselves into in order to listen to the music they think is as authentic as the PBR they drink. Nashville, where is your weird side for me? What do you have left for me to discover? And can I do it for free?

That is exactly how I feel about the town I live in. Boring. I spend way too much time dreaming of being somewhere else. I need to find a way to be content here, for now. Thanks for helping me to see this, although I'm sure that wasn't your goal. Or was it? You are very clever, after all.

Clever? I've been waiting all day to see if anyone disputes this, but since no one does, I'm going to accept it as a true compliment.

Thanks.
